Jazz In Flight Plans Tribute To Eric Dolphy

Jazz In Flight’s will hold its tribute to Eric Dolphy, the organization’s first since 1998. Taking place at Yoshi’s in Oakland, Calif., shows are at 8 and 10 p.m., and cost $20.

Advance tickets are available through Yoshi’s box office, 510-238-9200.

Artists who will take part in the tribute are James Newton (flute/musical director), Oliver Lake (saxophone), Wadada Leo Smith (trumpet), Jon Jang (piano), Art Davis (bass) and Anthony Brown (drums)/

This event kicks off Jazz In Flight’s summer program of creative music highlighted by the 13th Annual Eddie Moore Jazz Festival in August.
