Thalia has released the Pick Puck, a pick holder that can be placed anywhere on a guitar. It utilizes Thalia’s proprietary GuitarSafe Micro-Suction Pads, which are modeled after a gecko’s foot, using suction instead of adhesive to adhere to the guitar. This technology lets the user easily reposition and re-attach the Pick Puck while also being safe for guitar finishes. The patent-pending Pick Puck comes in two sizes, Standard and Mini, and is constructed of exotic wood, with a variety of inlays featuring traditional guitar materials such as mother of pearl, blue abalone, Indian rosewood and Hawaiian koa.

iCon Pro Audio has debuted its Cocoon and Martian microphones. The Cocoon incorporates a true electrostatic Golden Drop transducer within its space-age-looking capsule architecture. A special sputtering technique lets the Cocoon’s 33-millimeter-diameter diaphragm move with precision for increased intelligibility while reducing any coloration or distortion. The Martian (pictured) features an enclosed, shock-mounted capsule with an electrostatic Golden Drop transducer made of pure 999 gold. This allows the mic’s 26-millimeter-diameter diaphragm to move more quickly for richer detail and improved transparency.
