Fender has added a 200-watt version to its Tone Master amp line. The Tone Master Super Reverb amplifier is a replication of the legendary tube amplifier with modern features. Featuring Fender’s proprietary Tone Master modeling process, the amp is a combination of a mid-1960s black panel amplifier circuit and four 10-inch speakers. It features the unique, beefy sound of the large cabinet, the chime of Jensen speakers and an easily driven 45-watt simulated amplifier.
The Wilmington line of saxophones is growing with the addition of baritone and alto models. The Wilmington baritone (pictured) is easy to play, so the doubler can get a big, rich sound. The baritone model boasts even intonation, flexibility in tone, smooth ergonomics, high-quality engraving and solid build. The alto model is a well-made instrument at an affordable price point, solidly crafted under the watchful eye of the company’s Sax ProShop.
Gretsch Drums has teamed with Hungary-born drum phenom Gergo Borlai to develop a new addition to the company’s USA metal snare drum range. The Gergo Borlai Signature Snare is one of the more distinctive instruments in the Gretsch snare drum collection, featuring a 4.25- by 14-inch, 1.2mm-thick brass shell; 45-degree bearing edges; 20-strand snare wires; and 4mm die-cast hoops. The sand-blasted texture of the shell surface gives it a striking look as well as a tighter overall sound.
