French Lick Festival Announces Lineup

  I

The French Lick Springs Jazz Festival has a lot to celebrate this year. The annual jazz festivities will take place March 15-17, and will coincide with the centennial celebration of two of the most historic hotels in Indiana. In honor of this milestone, the French Lick Springs Jazz Festival will offer an array of jazz artists, dinner concerts, jam sessions and performance workshops.

The festival opens Friday, March 15 with Jazz at the Springs, a diner dance featuring the Woody Herman Orchestra at the French Lick Springs Spa & Resort. Saturday offers Jazz Under Glass, a cabaret-style dinner concert featuring Jane Jarvis, Benny Powell and Earl May Trio. Afterglow open mike sessions will be held and ticket holders are encouraged to bring their instruments to nightly jam sessions in the historic lobby of the French Lick Springs Resort following the evening concerts. Trumpet and jazz piano performance workshops will be open by reservation on Saturday afternoon.

For more information, call the French Lick Springs Resort & Spa for information and reservations for the French Lick Springs Jazz Festival weekend package, 800-457-4042. To buy a ticket for the Jazz under Glass concert at West Baden Springs only, call Historic Landmarks Foundation at 800-450-4534.
