On The Pugilist, Bernie Dresel and his big band, The BBB, offer an hour of rousing big band tunes, primed for a nighttime groove or a morning pick-me-up. Blow after blow, round after round, the boxing metaphor delivers. A mixture of traditional big band sounds and new arrangements of both jazz standards and classics from the American songbook, the third effort from The BBB does not disappoint.
