Multi Latin Grammy® and Grammy® nominee pianist, arranger and composer presents his new release Jobim Forever.
“It was 1959. At some point, I was taken in by something magical that came through that car radio: it was the song “A Felicidade”, by Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes, which had been composed for the film Black Orpheus. It gave me a feeling I had never experienced before, a true and profound “love at first sight”. From then on, still at the age of 12, I started to pursue that sound passionately. I found out that behind that magical sound there were other factors. There was a whole generation, which included Joao Gilberto, Roberto Menescal, Carlos Lyra and that entire group of musicians who created a style that came to be known as Bossa Nova. That was the world I wanted to be part of.” – Antonio Adolfo

“A Brazilian breeze.” – George W. Harris (JazzWeekly - UK)
“There is no doubt that Antonio Adolfo has paid a fitting tribute to the late Jobim, one of the architects of bossa nova. This way this timeless music stays “in the picture”.” -– Patrick Van De Wiele (Keys & Chords - Belgium)
“Adolfo’s imaginative charts are brilliantly interpreted by a band boasting some stellar soloists.” – Gordon Jack (The Jazz Journal - UK)

“Antonio Adolfo has discovered a new sensitivity in Jobim’s music and transforms it, preserving all its original beauty.” – Jose Ramon (La Habitacion del Jazz - Spain)
“It must be said, Adolfo does not build on Jobim’s successful themes, he uses his music, but through his free interpretation he gives the music more space, which makes me prefer his versions” – Jan Van Leersum (Rootstime - Belgium)
“In both musical spheres, and more in the deltas fueled by jazz, Antonio Adolfo pontificates as the artisan of the unbreakable solidity of the greatest art of this country, under darkness and storms.” – Tarik de Souza (IMMuB - Brazil)
“Mr Adolfo’s pianism is superb and beyond reproach. His touch is luminous and feather-light.” – Raul Da Gama (The LatinJazzNet - Canada)
“Adolfo not only contributes rewarding piano solos but inventive arrangements that make the songs sound particularly fresh and lively.” – Scott Yanow (L.A. Jazz Scene - US)
“And preserving the spirit of the master’s music, Adolfo created such arrangements where the jazz side of these works is very delicately but confidently accented.” – Leonid Auskern (JazzQuad - Rússia)
