American Jazz Museum Celebrates 10 Years

The American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Mo., commemorated its 10th anniversary Saturday with a street fair celebration.

The festivities included a mini-parade with marching bands and jugglers, a wide range of music and a craft fair. The ReBirth Brass Band also performed, with Kansas City vocalist Lisa Henry leading a quartet at the museum’s jazz club, the Blue Room, later that evening.

The American Jazz Museum is located in the city’s famous 18th and Vine jazz district, and it comprises rare photos and videos of jazz masters, more than 100 recordings of top jazz and two performance venues.
