Birdland Hosts BossaBrasil Festival

The sounds of Brasil will return to Birdland in New York for the BossaBrasil Festival April 15–19. This year features pianist Cesar Camargo Mariano with his trio and vocalist/guitarist Joao Bosco, joined by saxophonist Harry Allen.

Mariano will appear with his son, Marcelo Mariano on bass and drummer Jurim Moreira.

Launched in 2007, the fest is produced by Pat Philips and Ettore Stratta.

    ​Peplowski first came to prominence in legacy swing bands, including the final iteration of the Benny Goodman Orchestra, before beginning a solo career in the late 1980s.
