The BMI Foundation will celebrate and honor new jazz composition with its BMI Jazz Composers Workshop concert and competition on June 26 at New York’s Christ and St. Stephen’s Church.

The concert will feature the BMI/New York Jazz Orchestra, a 17-piece reperatory ensemble. Composer Jim McNeely leads the workshop. The evening will also include a competition to choose the winner of the BMI Foundations Charlie Parker Jazz Composition Prize. The prize includes a cash award and a $3,000 commission to compose a new piece for next year’s concert.
