Brazilian Vocalist Ithamara Koorax to Perform in New York

Brazilian singer Ithamara Koorax will make a rare New York appearance on Dec. 10 in a special concert celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, at the Proshansky Auditorium of the City University of New York. Koorax performs with the Amazon Big Band led by fellow Brazilian percussionist, composer and arranger Thiago de Mello. De Mello recently wrote a jazz suite, “A Flame in the Dark,” for the performance.
