This year’s series includes an Oct. 7 show with trumpeter Roy Hargrove and clarinetist Buddy DeFranco at the Thorne Auditorium, a Dec. 13 holiday concert with singer Ann Hampton Callaway at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, and a performance with saxophonist Eric Alexander on May 18, 2008, at the Thorne Auditorium. In addition, the CJO will make its first appearance on the “Jazz at Symphony Center” series, an April 18, 2008, performance with the Ahmad Jamal Trio.

As Ted Nash, left, departs the alto saxophone chair for LCJO, Alexa Tarantino steps in as the band’s first female full-time member.
