Cryptogramophone Celebrates Ten Years

Los Angeles-based Cryptogramophone will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a week of programming at New York’s Jazz Standard April 23–27 including live sets by Bennie Maupin, Nels Cline, Alex Cline, Scott Amendola, Myra Melford, Ben Goldberg and Jeff Gauthier.

The label also announced the April 22 release of Early Reflections, its second recording by multi-instrumentalist Bennie Maupin with a Polish band as well as a 10th anniversary compilation including two CDs and a DVD entitled Assemblage: 1998–2008 featuring recorded nuggets from the Cryptogramophone catalog and unreleased live video footage of Cline’s New Monastery, Maupin and other label artists.
