Clarinetist Eddie Daniels, vocalist Polly Gibbons and trumpeter Claudio Roditi are among the artists who will help Resonance Records celebrate its 10th anniversary with a series of shows at New York City’s Birdland on Oct. 28–29. There will be shows at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. both nights. A roster of 17 musicians associated with the label will perform, including vocalist/trombonist Aubrey Logan, violinist Christian Howes and others.

The shows at Birdland will draw from the catalog of Resonance recordings, with a mix of styles, including straightahead jazz, Latin jazz and blues. The artists will interpret the music of Wes Montgomery, Astor Piazzolla, Egberto Gismonti, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jaco Pastorius, Thad Jones and others.

Headlining will be Daniels, who will perform selections from his latest Resonance album, The Heart Of Brazil: The Music Of Egberto Gismonti, with the renowned Harlem String Quartet.

Also participating will be gifted musicians who have played on numerous Resonance releases: guitarist Paul Bollenback, pianists Josh Nelson and Donald Vega, bassists Kevin Axt and Richie Goods, and drummers Mauricio Zottarelli and Mark McLean.

Resonance Records was founded by audio engineer/producer George Klabin in 2008 with the mission to discover and nurture rising jazz stars and preserve the history of jazz. In 2009, Klabin teamed up with co-president and producer Zev Feldman, who oversees the historical releases arm of Resonance.
