Denny Zeitlin to Play Home Town

  I

Pianist Denny Zeitlin will return to his home town of Highland Park, Ill., March 30–31 for a concert at Highland Park Community House. Zeitlin pursued psychiatry and jazz after graduating from Highland Park High School in 1956.

Each year Highland Park High School has a tradition of honoring alumni whom they feel have had distinguished careers.

Zeitlin will give a brief talk at the ceremony and will be an honoree on March 31 and, on March 30, he will give a concert for the first time in his home town.

His plans for 2008 include solo and trio touring, placement of new completed live trio and solo CDs and the CD release in September by Mosaic Records of the Columbia studio trio LPs from the ‘60s.
