Either/Orchestra To Release Modernist LP

  I

Either/Orchestra’s new LP, Neo-Modernism, has been set for release Sept. 2 on Accurate Records.

The group’s follow-up to Afro-Cubanism has been inspired by innovators of modern jazz without attempting to emulate their styles but rather “seeking the spark of the creation in their sound experiments.”

Billy Harper, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Steve Lacy, Wayne Shorter, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Sun Ra and Bob Nieske all served as influence for new compositions by bandleader Russ Gershon.

Either/Orchestra is Tom Halter and Colin Fisher on trumpet, Joel Yennior on Trombone, Jeremy Udden on alto sax and flute, Russ Gershon on tenor and soprano sax, Charlie Kohlhase on baritone sax, Greg Burk on keyboards, Rick McLaughlin on bass, Harvey Wirht on drums and Vicente Lebron on congas and percussion.
