Elling A Delegate At Dems Convention

Kurt Elling has been chosen as an Illinois delegate for the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

“I am proud of this opportunity to stand up for intelligence, good sense and real morality in government,” Elling says. “This is no time for demagogues of fearful children to lead America. It is time to put an adult back in the White House.”

The Grammy-winning Blue Note vocalist will be one of 5,672 delegates from across the country converging on Boston’s FleetCenter July 26–29. Each state has a unique method of determining delegates, who are then certified by the Democratic National Committee. Other delegates this year include Earvin Johnson, Everclear’s Art Alexakis and John Glenn.
