Pianist Ellis Marsalis knows how to celebrate in style. The NEA Jazz Master has a new album, An 80th Birthday Celebration (Nu Jazz Entertainment/Elm Records). It will be released as a two-disc vinyl album exclusively via PledgeMusic.com.

The album was recorded in concert with Derek Douget (tenor and soprano saxophones), Jason Stewart (bass) and Herlin Riley (drums).

The project is being released with a campaign through PledgeMusic.com, where fans can pre-purchase the two-disc 180g vinyl album with or without an autograph. Fans can also purchase private lessons with Marsalis; personalized birthday or anniversary videos from Marsalis; a collector’s autographed and numbered “test pressing” and much more.

The two-disc album includes 10 tracks and is only available for pre-order through Jan.15, 2017. (The album will not available on CD nor through popular digital download stores or streaming services.)

Marsalis will give a quintet performance at the 8th Annual Jazz Education Network (JEN) Conference on Jan. 5 in his hometown of New Orleans.
