The Firehouse 12 organization in New Haven, Conn., will launch its own label in April 2007 with a combination of physical and digital-only recordings.

Firehouse 12’s first releases, scheduled for April 3, will be a nine-CD and single-DVD box set of Anthony Braxton’s 12+1tet’s March 2006 concerts at New York’s Iridium, as well as the debut of label co-founder cornetist Taylor Ho Bynum’s sextet. The company also intends to release digital downloads of live performances recorded during its 2006 fall jazz series.
