On Thursday, April 27, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival will kick off one big party at the Foundation Gala, whose theme for 2006 is: “As We Get This Party Started.” The party starters include two of the city’s most famous musicians, Dr. John and Kermit Ruffins.
Tickets for the event, to be held at 7 p.m. at Harrah’s New Orleans Casino on Canal St, are $500 ($300 tax deductible) and include dinner, a gala pass to the Jazz Festival, and admission to the six-day Heritage Fair. All proceeds will benefit the charitable and educational purposes of the NOJHF a 501c3 non-profit organization.
