Hargrove To Release New Quintet Album

On July 29, trumpeter Roy Hargrove will release Earfood, a new 13-track quintet album, on EmArcy/Groovin’ High. The Al Schmitt-engineered album features Justin Robinson on saxophone, bassist Danton Boller, pianist Gerald Clayton and drummer Montez Coleman.

In addition to seven Hargrove originals, the set includes covers such as Cedar Walton’s “I’m Not So Sure,” Larry Willis’ “To Wisdom The Prize” and Sam Cooke’s “Bring It Home To Me.”
