The American Pianists Association has announced the lineup for the 2005 Indy Jazz Fest presented by Kroger. The festival will maintain its three-day, multistage format from June 17-19 in downtown Indianapolis’ Military Park.
“We have scheduled many outstanding performers who represent a variety of music genres and also included an array of new family-friendly activities and amenities,” said Helen Small, president of the APA.
Artists scheduled to appear at the festival include:
June 17: Buselli Jazz Orchestra; Adam Birnbaum Trio; The Manhattan Transfer.
June 18: Kwyjibo; Susan Tedeschi; Chris Botti/The David Sanborn Group; The Commodores, Slide Hampton’s “Slide Plays Jobim”; the Bad Plus; Brenda Williams.
June 19: Gary Burton’s “Generations”; Mavis Staples; Tony Bennett; Cool Chilies; The Joey DeFrancesco Trio; Steve Allee.
