Jazz At Lincoln Center Orchestra To Tour The South

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will tour the southern United States from Jan. 15-31, 2009. The 15-piece band will perform a repertoire of classic Blue Note Records tunes by Herbie Hancock, Joe Henderson, Jackie McLean, Lee Morgan, Joe Henderson and others, and modern compositions and arrangements by jazz contemporaries that include members of the band. The band may also perform music by Thelonious Monk and modern jazz renditions of traditional favorites.
