Jazz-Funk Drummer Stanton Moore Signs With Telarc

Drummer Stanton Moore, who co-founded the band Galactic, has signed to Telarc International. Moore’s debut with the label, III is slated for release on Oct. 24.

Moore grew up in New Orleans and along with Galactic, he has collaborated with John Medeski and Charlie Hunter. Guests on III will include organist Lonnie Smith and trombonist Mark Mullins. The disc was recorded at Preservation Hall.

“Given Telarc’s international distribution network, I’m looking forward to getting my records outside the United States,” Moore said. “I’m confident that we’ll make a good team.”
