Jazz In July Accepting Applications for Programs

The University of Massachusetts Amherst will again be offering the Jazz In July summer music programs. Running from July 7–18, the program draws an array of educators to facilitate the study of jazz. Lectures, master classes and faculty performances are part of the program. The deadline for fast track acceptance is March 21. Applications after then will be considered as space exists.

Faculty for this year include: Geri Allen, piano; John Blake, violin; Ingrid Jensen, trumpet; Steve Johns, drums; Esperanza Spalding, bass; and Billy Taylor, piano.

The three programs offered are an instrumental ensemble program, vocal jazz soloists with trios program and a one-week teacher training program.
