Jazzmeia Horn Part of American Contingent at jazzahead!

Vocalist Jazzmeia Horn and pianist Justin Kauflin represent part of the American contingent who will be taking part of jazzahead!, a festival and trade fair in Bremen, Germany.

Eight acts from outside of Europe are set to play the April 21 Overseas Night showacase at jazzahead!.

jazzahead!, an annual industry eveny in Bremen, Germany, features scores of performances, as well as panels and a trade fair. This year, the festival is scheduled April 6-22 and the trade fair runs April 19-22.

“With Aca Seca and Freedoms Trio, we chose two bands from South America which impressed us with their exuberant love of playing and stunning instrumental skills,” said Uli Beckerhoff, jazzahead! artistic director, while discussing Overseas Night. “Jazzmeia Horn and Justin Kauflin, meanwhile, represent the American jazz tradition in a magnificent way.”
