Jeff Golub To Release Grand Central

Guitarist Jeff Golub will release a tribute to his New York home on his upcoming Grand Central (Narada Jazz). The disc will be released on March 6.

Golub’s group on the recording consists of musicians he’s worked with in studio sessions or in jam sessions around town. His colleagues include saxophonist Richard Elliot, trumpeter Rick Bruan, saxophonist Kirk Whalum, pianist Philippe Saisse, drummer Stephen Ferrone, keyboardist Mitchell Foreman and percussionist Luis Conte.

“Part of being a New Yorker is that you’re in a state of constant communication with people,” Golub said. “Sometimes words are spoken. Sometimes the communication is just a glance or an unspoken acknowledgement on a subway train.”
