JVC Jazz Festival NY Presents World Jazz Nights and 2-for-1 Special Discounts

The 2007 JVC Jazz Festival - New York, set for June 17-30, celebrates the city’s club life with world jazz nights at the Jazz Standard and 2-for-1 special discounts at six area clubs.

Guitarist Lionel Loueke will kick off five world jazz nights at the Jazz Standard with his trio June 26. The following night will feature trumpeter Avishai Cohen’s sextet, after which trombonist Roswell Rudd’s MALIcool will play a three-night run from June 28 to June 30.

In addition to the JVC Jazz Festival main hall concerts—which include Branford Marsalis and the Joshua Redman Trio at The Town Hall on June 20, Ron Carter & Friends at Carnegie Hall on June 27 and Bela Fleck & The Flecktones and the Del McCoury Band making their Carnegie Hall debut June 30—2-for-1 club admission is available for ticket holders from these and other hall concerts. These special discounts are available for the last show on select nights at The Blue Note, Iridium Jazz Club, The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, Smoke, Sweet Rhythm and Zinc Bar.
