The Staple Singers’ 1962 Christmas album, The 25th Day Of December is being reissued for the first time on Riverside Records through Concord Music Group.

This recording, the group’s fifth, includes their renditions of such holiday songs as “Joy To The World” and “Silent Night” as well as their take on Thomas Dorsey’s “The Savior Is Born” and Pops Staples’ original, “There Was A Star.” Riverside co-founder Orrin Keepnews produced the album.
