Marcus Roberts Hits Spring/Summer Tour in Support of New Album

Pianist Marcus Roberts will be on the road this spring and summer in support of hew new album, New Orleans Meets Harlem, Vol. 1 (J-Master), which is set for a March 31 release. Roberts will tour with his trio of Jason Marsalis (drums) and Roland Guerin (bass). They will be augmented on this tour by everyone from high school jazz bands to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The tour wraps with a stand at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Jazz At Lincoln Center, July 7- 12.

On New Orleans Meets Harlem, Vol. 1, Roberts interprets the work of
jazz greats such as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Scott Joplin, Duke Ellington and Thelonious Monk.

Tour dates are as follows:

March 26-28: Savannah, Ga.; Savannah Music Festival

March 29: Reston, Va.: Reston Community Center

April 2-4: Atlanta, Atlanta Symphony

April 5: Savannah, Ga., Savannah Music Festival, Performing Gershwin’s Concerto in F (w/ The Marcus Roberts Trio & The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra)

April 9: Livermore, Calif., Livermore Performing Arts Center

April 11: Chico, Calif., California State University: Laxson Auditorium

April 25: La Jolla, Calif., La Jolla Music Society: Birch North Park Theater

May 8: Chicago, Jazz at Symphony Center, Performing Deep in the Shed: A Blues Suite

July 7-12: New York, Jazz @ Lincoln Center: Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola (Marcus Roberts Trio)
