The Microscopic Septet’s Phillip Johnston and Joel Forrester have reunited the group for a European tour in conjunction with the release of their two-volume reissue History of the Micros: Seven Men in Neckties & Surrealistic Swing.

Known as “New York’s Most Famous Unknown Band,” the septet disbanded in 1992. The group composed and recorded the Fresh Air theme song for National Public Radio.

The Microscopic Septet will be touring Europe starting Nov. 30.

Dec. 1: Jazzmeile Thuringen, Ilmenau, Germany
Dec. 2 & 3: Europe TBA
Dec. 4: Live broadcast on Radio Bremen, Bremen, Germany
Dec. 5: Enercity Expo Café, Hannover, Germany
Dec. 6: Europe TBA
Dec. 7: Bimhuis, Amsterdam, Holland
Dec. 8: Porgy and Bess, Bienna, Austria
