Montreal Guitar Show to Include Concert

For its second edition, the Montreal Guitar Show has started Guitarmania, a new concert series featuring guitarists Jim Hall, Martin Taylor and Pierre Bensusan performing at Place des Arts’ Cinquième Salle. Tickets go on sale March 1 at noon.

The guitar show will be held on the first weekend of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal (June 26–29).

Other guitarists slated to perform include Antoine Dufour, Jim Hall, Michel Haumont, Jean Félix Lalanne, John Jorgenson, Andy McKee, Erik Mongrain, Don Ross, Jordan Officer, Gareth Pearson and Jake Shimabukuro.

All of these artists will also give a workshop as well as meet fans at the show.

Additional workshops will be given by leading guitar experts, among them luthiers such as Rick Davis, William “Grit” Laskin, Jeff Traugott, Rick Turner and Ervin Somogyi.
