New School Jazz Presents Miles and Miles Series

  I

This spring, the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music’s annual Jazz Presents series will explore the music of the trumpeter Miles Davis. Two concerts will pay tribute to the artistry of the musician. The first concert, March 6, focuses on work from his electric era, and feature Davis’s band member and music director Adam Holzman and guest Vernon Reid of Living Color.

The second concert, April 3, will interpret music from Davis’s early period, and feature drummer Jimmy Cobb, who performed with Davis on Kind Of Blue, as well as keyboardist Sam Yahel.

Jazz Presents is an annual series at the New School that showcases the work of New School Jazz faculty in collaboration with New School Jazz alumni and students.
