New York’s Charlie Parker Jazz Festival Honors Chico Hamilton

The 14th annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, and Sunday, Aug. 27 at two locations in New York. Saturday’s event will be held in Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem and Sunday’s performances will be at Tompkins Square Park in the East Village. Both dates will begin at 3:00 and are free to the public.

This year’s honoree, Chico Hamilton, will perform both days. Other musicians on Saturday include George Coleman, Sonny Fortune and Greg Osby. Ray Mantilla, JoAnne Brackeen and David Sanchez are featured on Sunday.
