The seventh annual Park City Jazz Festival gets underway Aug. 27 with eight-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan performing with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra.
The festival will continue through Aug. 29 with other headliners including The David Sanborn Band and the Count Basie Orchestra with Patti Austin in an Ella Fitzgerald tribute.
Performing in earlier sets during the three days are The Rippingtons with Russ Freeman, Los Hombres Calientes, Acoustic Alchemy, The Regina Carter Quintet, Mindi Abair, the Jeff Linsky Quartet, Frederick James McCray, John Flanders & Double Helix, and Gennaro’s Wax NYC with Milla. Jazz education will also take to the stage, with free workshops and clinics and performances from The Park City Jazz Foundation All-Star Student Combo and The Crescent School Little Big Band.
Activities are centered at Deer Valley Resort. Tickets go on sale June 7.
