Phil Woods Headlines Delaware Water Gap Festival

Alto saxphonist Phil Woods tops an eclectic list of performers scheduled for the 30th annual Delaware Water Gap Celebration of the Arts (COTA), to take place Sept. 6-9.

The festival—which features 18 sets of jazz performances, plus theater, dance and arts—takes place at a handful of venues across the Delaware Water Gap region of Pennsylvania.

To open the event, COTA co-founder Woods and his Little Big Band will premier his “Children’s Suite,” an 18-piece set inspired by A.A. Milne’s collection of poems We Are Six. He will also perform with his quintet Sept. 8.

Other highlights, all taking place Sept. 9, include David Liebman; Bill Mays and Inventions, featuring Marvin Stamm and Alisa Horn; and Urbie and Kathy Green with the Jesse Green Trio and special guest Chris Potter.

Tickets and information about the festival are available at cotajazz.org.
