Grammy-winning jazz vocalist Gregory Porter soon will launch a weekly podcast titled The Hang. Each episode will feature Porter conducting an interview. The inaugural episode, on Aug. 8, will include an enlightening, humorous conversation with actor and jazz pianist Jeff Goldblum.

Among the other announced interviewees for the 10-week series are saxophonist Kamasi Washington; Don Was, who is the head of Porters label, Blue Note Records; singer Annie Lennox; actress and musician Charlotte Gainsbourg; filmmaker Amma Asante; and Gilles Peterson, the broadcaster and head of the label Brownswood Recordings.

A press release describes Porters interview with Goldblum by stating, Here the two men discuss their lives, families, love-making, why people are scared of jazz, and much more.” Excerpts from the conversation are included in a podcast trailer.
