Arriving just in time for holiday shopping, a boxed set of Frank Sinatra’s historic Las Vegas performances will hit stores on Nov. 7.
Simply titled Sinatra: Vegas (Rhino), this 4-CD/1 DVD boxed set is comprised of performances from The Sands, Caesar’s Palace and The Golden Nugget spanning 1961 to 1987. The four discs include seldom-heard versions of such hits as “Come Fly With Me,” “Fly Me To The Moon,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” and “My Way.” One highlight is the complete version of Sinatra’s 1966 performance at the Sands with Count Basie & His Orchestra. A filmed concert from 1978 is available on the DVD.
Along with music and video, Sinatra: Vegas will include a 64-page book and a clearly unique metallic foil clamshell box.
As Ted Nash, left, departs the alto saxophone chair for LCJO, Alexa Tarantino steps in as the band’s first female full-time member.
