The Orman Music Group, in association with the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, Ill., will celebrate the music and culture of the Gulf Coast with a concert to benefit the musical community in the New Orleans area impacted by the hurricanes.
JAMbalaya will feature a wide variety of performances at the Nov. 22 event. Those scheduled to appear include: The Maurice Brown Quartet, David “Honeyboy” Edwards, Angela Rucker, the B.S. Brass Band, Take One Vocal Jazz, Midwest Young Artists Big Band, Mojo & the Bayou Gypsies, and New Orleans’ own JackRabbit Slim.
General admission tickets are $35; $25 for students with ID, while VIP tickets are available for $100. VIP includes premium concert seating, a post-concert Mardi Gras style reception featuring southern cuisine, live music from Cajun violinist Ruby Harris, as well as the opportunity to hang out with the performers.
