Sonny Rollins Turns 77, Revamps Web Site

Sonny Rollins celebrated his 77th birthday Friday, and his web site underwent a facelift to coincide with the occasion.

The revamped sonnyrollins.com features a multimedia biography; an enhanced shop with recordings, lead sheets, transcriptions, arrangements and books; and an expanded forum area. In anticipation of the saxophonist’s Carnegie Hall performance Sept. 18, the site is also featuring rare audio and video performances, including a 1956 gig with the Max Roach/Clifford Brown All-Stars.

The Sonny Rollins Podcast and additional video will continue to appear on the site and on YouTube, with iTunes downloads also available.
