Stacey Kent’s New Album Shows Her Boy Influences

Celebrated jazz/pop vocalist Stacey Kent’s new album, The Boy Next Door (Candid), will be in stores August 26.

With saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, pianist David Newton, guitarist Colin Oxley, bassist Dave Chamberlain and drummer Matt Home, The Boy Next Door, her sixth studio effort, combines old and new standards of Kent’s musical heroes. Composers on the album include Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Burt Bacharach and James Taylor.

Kent will perform Sept. 2–27 at New York’s Algonquin Hotel’s Oak Room to celebrate the release of her new CD and kick off a national tour.
