Trumpeter Stanley Jordan has signed with the Detroit-based Mack Avenue Records.

His first album on the imprint was recorded at Narada Michael Walden’s Tarpan Studios in San Raphael, Calif., and it is set for release Feb. 12, 2008. Featured on the recording with Jordan are bassist Charnett Moffett and drummer David Haynes.

“Forming good collaborations is a lot like composing music,” Jordan said in a news release. “Everything has to fit just right. That’s why I’m excited to be part of the Mack Avenue family. This is the new label on the cutting edge. I have a lot of new music to share with my audience and I’m pleased to know it will get the best care and attention.”
