Sunnyside Reissues Owl Recordings

  I

Sunnyside has reissued two discs that had been recorded in the mid-1990s for the French Owl label.

Vocalist Linda Sharrock and pianist Eric Watson’s Listen To The Night was taped at a Paris nightclub in 1994. Along with Sharrock and Watson’s three original compositions, they also interpret such standards as “My One And Only Love” and “You Don’t Know What Love Is.” Pianist Steve Kuhn and bassist Steve Swallow’s Two By Two was recorded in 1995 and features their compositions along with an interpretation of Michel Colombier’s “Emmanuel.”

“This recording reaffirms the mutual commitment to the history that Steve and I share,” Swallow said. “And to the vaules that have sustained us all this time.”
