Thrill Jockey Celebrates 15 Years With Unusual Box Set

Thrill Jockey is commemorating 15 years as an independent label with a novel box set on Dec. 4. The collection consists of a box of nine 7-inch singles of the labels bands covering songs by their favorite artists on Thrill Jockey.

Participants include Directions In Music, who cover guitarist Jeff Parker’s “Toy Boat,” and Pullman, who interpret the Chicago Undeground Quartet’s “3 a.m.” Tortoise, Nobukazu Takemura and David Byrne also cover Thrill Jockey artists’ songs on the set.
