UCLA to Present Gerald Wilson Tribute

The Herb Alpert School of Music, Department of Ethnomusicology, at UCLA will present a free big band concert March 11 featuring the compositions of Gerald Wilson on the occasion of Wilson’s retirement from the university.

The band will consist of UCLA Jazz Studies faculty including Kenny Burrell, George Bohanon, Clayton Cameron, Tamir Hendelman, Roberto Miranda, Barbara Morrison, James Newton, Charles Owens, Bobby Rodriguez and Michele Weir. The concert will feature guest artists vocalist Ernie Andrews and guitarist Anthony Wilson. The UCLA Jazz Orchestra and student ensembles will also play.
