Violinist Jenny Scheinman Signs With Koch

Violinist and vocalist Jenny Scheinman signed with New York-based Koch Records for the simultaneous release of her self-titled vocal debut and fifth instrumental album, Crossing The Field, due out May 27. Jenny Scheinman will be available online and in retail outlets nationwide, and Crossing The Field will initially be available online and on vinyl, with CDs available in stores this fall.

Jenny Scheinman combines original songs with renditions of country and blues selections by Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits, Mississippi John Hurt and others.

On her instrumental album, Crossing The Field, the arrangements feature performances by collaborator guitarist Bill Frisell, pianist Jason Moran and a string orchestra led by founding members of the string quartet Brooklyn Rider.
