Vision Festival XII Celebrates 12 Years Of Music, Spoken Word, Dance, Film And Visual Art

Arts for Art is celebrating 12 years of music, dance, spoken word, film and visual arts at this year’s Vision Festival, which will take place June 19–24 at New York’s Angel Orensanz Foundation, 107 Norfolk St.

The festival features a global cast of AvantJazz players, with a special lifetime achievement celebration for trumpeter Bill Dixon as a centerpiece of the festival.

Other 2007 Vision Festival highlights include newly commissioned works by William Parker, Roy Campbell and Nicole Mitchell; a memorial for Leroy Jenkins; and performances by Marc Ribot’s Spiritual Unity, Jayne Cortez FireSpitters, Matthew Shipp, Fred Anderson Trio, Vijay Iyer, Eddie Gale All Stars, Amiri Baraka and more.
