Winter Jazzfest To Present Jazz Alternatives

The 2007 New York City Winter Jazzfest will be held on January 10 and 20, 2007, at the Knitting Factory. Each night’s concert is being presented to coincide with larger music industry conventions in town. The concerts on the 10th—billed as “Jazz Alternatives Showcase”—are on the same night as the International Association For Jazz Education conference. Concerts on the 20th are to run simultaneously with the Association of Performing Arts Presenters conference.

Perfomers on Jan. 10 include Antoine Herve, Greg Lamy, Gutbucket, Liberty Ellman, Mino Cinelu, Rudresh Mahanthappa and Slavic Soul Party. Featured acts on Jan. 20 are Charlie Hunter, Claudia Acuna, Henry Grimes and Jenny Scheinman.
