The Trenton Downtown Association will help celebrate the Trenton Community Music School’s 10 year anniversary with its Women in Jazz festival scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10. The festival will feature a mix of seasoned and up-and-coming jazz artists at various venues downtown, as well as vocalist and instrumental workshops for adults and children. The festival is part of the Downtown Association’s Trenton2Nite series, a monthly celebration of art, culture and music downtown.

“We know that music education helps develop well-rounded children and for 10 years Trenton Community Music School as been an important resource for Trenton parents who otherwise couldn’t afford private music lessons for their children,” said Trenton Downtown Association executive director Taneshia Nash Laird. “We’re excited that we can provide the Trenton Community Music School a way to celebrate their important contribution to Trenton.”

The festival includes performances by Gloria Coleman, Tia Fuller, Monnette Sudler, Lynn Riley, Pam Purvis, Sue Giles and many others.
