Eight performances on April 27 at the jazzahead! Festival in Bremen, Germany, are set to showcase the breadth of the Germany jazz scene.

The German Jazz Expo, which also will include a biannual prize for German jazz journalism, a children’s symposium on improvisation and opportunities for networking, is set to host performances by Botticelli Baby, Der Weise Panda, Simin Tander & Jörg Brinkmann, Edi Nulz, Janning Trumann 6, the Johannes Bigge Trio, the Olga Amelchenko Quartet and the Peter Gall Quintett.

Peter Schulze, a jazzahead! artistic director, said that these young ensembles are “anything but cerebral,” calling Botticelli Baby “a real party band” in a press release.
