Concord Finds The Best Of Clooney

Concord Records has announced a two-CD tribute to Rosemary Clooney, set for release October 7.

Best Of The Concord Years is composed of 32 Clooney classics taken from the nearly 25 recordings she made with Concord from1977 to 2001.

The album mixes tributes to Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harold Arlen and Irving Berlin with other signatures like “Mambo Italiano,” “Sentimental Journey” and “White Christmas.”

“Not only was there enormous joy in making [her Concord] records, but the records became an important window into exactly ‘who’ Rosemary Clooney was,” said long-time manager and friend Allen Sviridoff.

“These days, with curated news, where people only get half the story, people can’t even speak to family members anymore,” Schneider laments.
